Waterford Arts Practice Grants Applications are Open

It’s that time of year again — and no, we don’t mean Christmas. It’s time for local creatives to share their plans and aspirations for 2024 in the hopes of being awarded an arts practice grant from Waterford City and County Council.

The nitty-gritty details are all here (and we very much recommend going through them with a fine-tooth comb to maximise your chances of success), but below are the key points to be aware of.

Arts practice grants fall under three general headings — arts practice grants, specialist arts practice grants (for playwright/producers and/or screenwriter/producers), and council arts venue grants.

These grants are specifically for projects and collectives, rather than individual creatives. If you are an individual or emerging artist looking for some financial support, don’t despair — you have other options. Keep an eye on artslinks.ie for announcements regarding the Professional and Emerging Individual Artists bursary, and the Arts Council website for the Agility Award — both of which will be reopening for 2024 applications.

You apply for these grants on the Submit platform — which you will be able to access via the Waterford Arts website

Deadline for submissions is Monday 9th October at 3pm but please be mindful that the website has been known to crash on deadline day due to traffic. Don’t let your hard work go to waste because of a technical glitch, give yourself plenty of time to get your application in.

Creatives — start your laptops, may the force be with you, and whatever you do, don’t leave it ’til the night before the deadline to get started!
