Sending a positive message to the world with Sand Art

Waterford Sand Artist Seán Corcoran developed an exciting project for Cruinniú nÓg 2021 with 20 students from Gaelscoil Phort Láirge. This was a 5 week project with 6th class students and Seán from The Art Hand, funded by Creative Ireland. The project consisted of a series of Zoom workshops and culminated in visiting Kilmurrin Cove on Saturday 12th June where they celebrated Cruinniú na nÓg 2021, a day of free creativity for young people.

Waterford artist Seán Corcoran creates massive sand art drawings with a garden rake on beaches around Ireland and the UK. His art has even brought him as far as Texas. Seán and his wife Miranda run a Gallery and Studios called The Art Hand on The Copper Coast where they specialise in paintings on glass and collaborative sand art on beaches.
