As part of our Shared Island partnership with Ballymena, we have been exploring the concept of sound and music as a way to bring people together. We have decided to offer two free days of sound and music based activities for both communities in August. On 9th August, Waterford will host its inaugural Sound Fest, and on 16th August Ballymena will host its version of the same festival.
We wanted to curate a programme the celebrated all the ways we use sound for our wellbeing. Whether this is meditation, art, poetry, making music, or just letting loose on the dancefloor with friends – this is intended to be a day where we just enjoy all the wonderful things that music and sound bring to our lives.
Below is our schedule for the day – all events are free of charge to attend thanks to generous Shared Island funding via Creative Ireland.
