Waterford Libraries welcomed John O’Leary Mayor of Waterford to launch the Restoration Art Project at Central Library, Lady Lane, Waterford on Thursday September 1st.
The Restoration Art Project is supported by the Creative Ireland Waterford Programme who funded an outreach programme allowing the Library to work with the project partners in Garter Lane Arts Centre to create an Art Trail, beautiful postcards and a series of upcoming art workshops with the artists.

Six artists, who are currently in residency in Garter Lane, have each completed an art work in different mediums, which were installed in branches of Waterford Libraries at Ardkeen, Carrickphierish, Lismore, Tramore and two pieces in Central Library. The theme of ‘Restoration’ reflects both the impact that creativity has had during Covid as well as being a practical way of restoring those physical links between artists and our communities.
Waterford libraries are ideally placed to provide those links by offering bright, innovative spaces where artists can display their works and flourish. The Restoration pieces are on display in our Library branches until the end of the year.
