FREE Craft Workshops for St Patrick’s Festival

We were delighted to be approached by the organising committee of Waterford’s St Patrick’s Festival 2024 about curating a Creative Communities offering for this fabulous weekend of celebrations. We always love to see accessible opportunities for everybody to enjoy creativity, and we wanted our festival offering to reflect this.

We are thrilled to share that our friends in GOMA and Southeast Craft Studios have come on board to offer small group creative workshops that span all age ranges and will be completely FREE for the public to attend. Mindful Celtic Knotting Workshops (suitable for ages 8-100!)

Take time out from the weekend hustle and bustle with our friends in Southeast Craft Studio to create beautiful Celtic knotted creations in a relaxed environment.

To celebrate our Irish heritage, this is a workshop based on slowing down and mindfully knotting simple cords into a series of knotworks reminiscent of Celtic knots found at heritage sites like Newgrange or painted in the Book of Kells. These slowly knotted creations can then be worn when the workshop is complete. Using macramê cord and some simple but intricate looking knots, this workshop will celebrate our Irish culture and traditions in a beautiful, slow and engaging way.

We have 8 timeslots available for this workshop across 16th, 17th and 18th March in WCQ Place, 16/18 O’Connell Street. Find the time that suits you and secure your spot here.

We look forward to a creative and fun St Patrick’s weekend together!
